Roxas Sigma Agriventures, Inc. has opened many new opportunities with the construction of its new Integrated Coconut Processing Plant. The plant being constructed in Tupi, South Cotabato will utilize proprietary processes, the latest technologies, and cutting-edge equipment never before used for the production of high-value coconut products in the Philippines.
DIGITAL IN-LINE BLENDING. It uses state-of-the-art controls and automation for the standardization of product quality. This fully automated technology with consistent accuracy offers flexibility on product composition, depending on the needs of the client. This is a first in the Philippines for coconut milk and coconut water.
FEED FORWARD CONTROL SYSTEM FOR DIRECT STEAM INJECTION. A first in commercial quantity production of Bulk Aseptic Coconut Milk in the Philippines. The system is fully automated using advanced controls while utilizing minimal energy, and produces excellent product quality. Due to the sonic velocity steam injection sterilizer, the coconut milk is processed to become stable in ambient temperature. The aseptically packaged product does not require refrigeration during shipment and storage, which is a major cost reduction.
Through automated standardization of product and feed forward control on its process, the resulting product has superior taste profile. It offers other operational advantages such as reduced wastage and reprocessing cost.

WET PROCESS, CENTRIFUGE EXTRACTION to produce VCO in commercial quantities is a first in the Philippines. Its much improved taste and smell is a definite differentiator in the domestic and overseas markets. The freshest coconut milk is processed at the shortest time possible with optimized product recovery. The resulting product will be the freshest and purest possible VCO. The system also produces skimmed milk which is a valuable by-product.
VCO is further processed to achieve lower moisture content through Vacuum Drying technology. The system only introduces minimal heat to maintain the favorable taste and scent of the product.
ACCELERATED FALLING FILM LOW TEMPERATURE COCONUT WATER CONCENTRATION. This technology features low temperature evaporation of water to produce quality coconut water concentrate. It has low steam consumption due to its efficient vapor recompression design. In addition, its accelerated falling film with recirculation allows for a high turnover ratio without affecting the product’s quality.

RAW MATERIALS SUPPLY & CONSOLIDATION SYSTEM. A systematic approach is designed to secure the supply of the raw materials (de-husked mature coconuts) for the company. At full capacity, the integrated coconut processing plant requires an average of 300 MT of coconuts per day-6 days a week, to operate efficiently. A specially developed efficient and cost-effective raw material delivery system is utilized to address issues relating to the harvest, transport, delivery, storage, and processing of coconuts. A major component of the consolidator supply system is farm mapping (i.e. inventory of farms and trees of the major coconut growing areas in South Cotabato). Effective implementation of this system will be a breakthrough in the efficient navigation through the middleman-farmer dependency system which today remains as a challenge to the major players in the coconut industry.
HEAT-HOLD BELT-TYPE BLANCHING SYSTEM. The technology utilizes a unique and patented Heat/Hold Blanching process. The coconut meat is exposed to culinary steam for a short time. This short exposure of coconut meat is due to fast attainment of core product temperature. As leaching action is reduced, color of coconut meat and its nutrients are retained.
EVAPORATIVE COOLING & CASCADE REFRIGERATION. For cooling water and chilled water systems, its water consumption on cooling systems is reduced to about 95%, a first in the coconut industry application. It is almost maintenance-free and eliminates heat exchanger scaling and dangerous waterborne diseases, contributing to the production of high-quality coconut product.
