Aseptic Coconut Cream & Coconut Milk are produced only from freshly harvested mature coconuts. The coconuts are de-husked, de-shelled, and drained of coconut water. The coconut flesh is then pared to remove the testa. The pared white flesh is washed and blanched to remove any impurities. It is then grated and undergoes mechanical pressing to extract Coconut Cream Concentrate, which contains 32% or more fat.
The Coconut Cream Concentrate is standardized using skimmed coconut milk, not water, to 22%-24% fat to what is known as Aseptic Coconut Cream, and 14%-18% fat referred to as Aseptic Coconut Milk. Any fat content level desired by the customer can also be supplied, and still guaranteed to be 100% pure, unadulterated.
The product goes through a proprietary UHT/Aseptic process which prevents scalding, and retains the fresh, natural nutrients and minerals of coconuts. Coconut Cream is then homogenized and packed in 200 Kg aseptic bag-in-steel drum or 20 Kg aseptic bag-in-box sizes. The products will be shipped ambient, not requiring refrigerated storage conditions.
The final color of the Coconut Cream is white. It will not contain gum, thickeners, or sweeteners being added by other manufacturers.
Coconut Cream and Coconut Milk contain vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes, including potassium and calcium. The saturated fat in coconut is made up of short-chain and medium-chain fatty acids that the body quickly turns into energy, instead of storing it as fat. Therefore, even though it is high in saturated fat, coconut can aid in weight loss. The medium-chain fatty acids in coconut milk are composed of lauric acid, which is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal. Coconut milk can help boost the immune system.
Coconut milk is an excellent dairy-free alternative for those who are lactose-intolerant or allergic to animal milk. This vegan drink is also a non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms), soy-free, and gluten-free product.
Traditionally, fresh Coconut Cream and Milk are used mainly as base for a variety of dishes (like curries), desserts, and beverages in Southeast Asia, the Indian sub-continent, and South America. If fresh Coconut Cream or Milk is not available, canned, tetra pack products or powders are used as substitutes. Recent applications of Coconut Milk in the Americas and Europe include smoothies, ice creams, and yoghurts.
